Tomei Short Shifter.....

My previous RB20DET gearbox was running on this shifter which I did not realize was a Tomei unit until yesterday.....

My itchy hand was rummaging through my parts box when I decided to have a closer look at the shifter when I notice the familiar green color of Tomei shifters.....

What a joy it is when I see it is indeed a Tomei shifter for RB20DET and I think it should suit SR possibly.....

First thought was to transfer the lower bush from my current shifter so I can use the Tomei unit but later decided against it as it is just too much hassle.....

It's up for sale though!

I'm always fascinated by RC drifts but did not really do the plunge.....

In fact I'm still by the sideline watching.....

Well, I only went as far as this.....

My good old guppy tank.....

One look and it is deceiving.....

One look and it is brushed off as a abandoned tank.....

One look for those in the know will draw them closer to it.....

The fact that it is teeming with life is not well represented by its outlook.....

I have healthy Nana Petite, two in fact in the tank and a drift wood, not that the wood is alive anyway.....
And if you look carefully there are two flying foxes too.....

And finally shrimps, my favorite tank citizen.....

A shift boot should be complimented by a side brake boot.....

What is complete without a set of complimenting shift boot and side brake boot from Superior Auto Custom?

I took out the old one and replace it with a new one.....

I took out the rear center console which includes the box and look at how old the current unit is.....

The underside of the console box.....notice the 2 screws holding the boot via a sheet metal frame.....

The boot taken out and there's the gap waiting to be filled by the new boot.....

The current boot taken out and there a glue given by Superior Auto Custom to glue the new boot to the metal frame.....

Unfortunately I have to say the glue does not serve any adhesive purpose.....

Now let's not fret over such trivial matter and look at the end result.....
